Mindfulness Workshops for 7-18 Year Olds
What is it?
Mindfulness is simply the act of being more aware of the world around and within us. It is being aware of our thoughts, feelings and bodily sensations and accepting them without judgement.
Who is it for?
I offer mindfulness workshops for KS2 classes in schools as well as privately for individuals and small groups.
How can it help?
- Better regulation of emotions and behaviour
- Lowered levels of stress, depression, anxiety and other forms of mental ill health
- Increase in focus and attention
- Improved academic outcomes
- Improved conflict resolution skills, self-control and compassion
- Develop a more positive mindset
How does it work?
Mindfulness workshops work slightly differently depending on whether it is for a school or for a private individual/group:
- For school groups, I follow the .paws b program by the Mindfulness in Schools Project (MiSP) - this is aimed at KS2 children and I work with classes of around 30 pupils. Sessions run weekly over a period of 12 weeks and are on school grounds during the school day.
- For private individual/groups, I run my own program which is adapted to suit the needs of KS2-KS5 pupils. The content is adapted based on the age group of the participants. Sessions run weekly over a period of 6 weeks and are usually run from my office or a suitable venue depending on the group size.
