What is it?
Coaching is a collaborative solution-focused, results-orientated and systematic process in which I, as coach, facilitate the enhancement of academic performance, life experience, self-directed learning and personal growth of the coachee.
Who is it for?
I offer coaching for 7 - 18 year olds.
Is coaching for children really necessary?
Well, did you know that around 1 in 5 of the world’s children and adolescents are living with mental ill health? Not just that, but approximately 50% of all mental health ill health begins before the age of 14.
So, while coaching isn't a necessity, for many children and young people it is extremely difficult to talk to people they are close to about problems they may be having, such as friendship or family difficulties, anxiety around exams or future careers, feelings of low confidence or low self-esteem. This can lead to the development of mental ill health which can be quite extreme in some cases. This is where I come in - someone who is neutral, a safe space for your child to express their feelings.
I've worked in schools for 8 years now and in that time it's become clear that they do not teach children how to handle the pressures of life - that is where coaching comes in. The beauty of it is that it is preventative in nature by teaching children very early on in their lives essential life skills which they can use when life gets a little tough to prevent them spiralling.
